re-Genesis app
Privacy policy
The short version: the app keeps your practice on your device, and sends nothing about you anywhere.
Effective date: 16 June 2026.
re-Genesis is a daily companion to the re-Genesis book by Theunis Pienaar. This policy explains, in plain terms, what the app does and does not do with your information.
What we collect
Nothing leaves your device. re-Genesis has no account system, no login, and no server that stores your information. Everything you create in the app is saved only in the app’s local storage on your own device, including:
- Your daily practice progress (rituals, MSG and SEE completions)
- Your journal stitches and reflections
- Your patchwork quilt
- Your settings, including the chapter you are reading
- An email address, only if you choose to enter one. It is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us or anyone else by the current version of the app.
We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of this. We cannot see it.
Analytics and tracking
re-Genesis contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind. There are no usage statistics, no crash reporting services, and no marketing trackers.
Network use
The app makes one kind of network request: it fetches publicly available journal posts from the author’s website (theunispienaar.com) so you can read them inside the app. Opening a post loads that public web page in an in-app viewer.
As with visiting any website, the author’s web server may record standard technical request information such as your IP address and the time of the request. No information you create in the app, and no personal information, is attached to or sent with these requests.
Children’s privacy
re-Genesis does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Because your data lives only on your device, you can remove all of it at any time by deleting the app, or by clearing the app’s storage in your device settings. There is nothing for us to delete on our side, because we never receive it.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change in a future version (for example, if an optional newsletter sign-up begins sending your email to a mailing-list provider), this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the effective date above will change.
