Sensational Belief
Everyone has "belief" - not just religious people.
And everyone has belief about God - even the person who does not believe there is a God.
For him his belief is a void, an absence.
What we believe, is the energy that flows into he materialization of our Life.
Our Life materializes (becomes matter real) from it.
Quietly, under what we believe about our Self and Life and the world we live in, there sits a belief about God.
Take a moment.
Consider God.
What feelings rise in your body?
Does your body tighten, constrict?
Or is there a feeling of safety?
Our bodies hold our belief.
We didn't adopt what we believe in a Church or Temple.
We adopted it in our sensual experiences with our caregivers, when we were little.
In what we heard and smelled, tasted and felt.
Even before our first breath it was already in our molecules and cells (as epigenetics describes) as it was passed on to us by our biological parents, by the two tiny pieces of earth that came together to form a zygote, which grew into me, in this Life.
Already in our mother's womb, there are beliefs in us.
Beliefs of which we are probably mentally, completely unaware.
What pronoun comes to mind when you think of God?
Most people I've asked say: "He".
That's a picture.
Belief is an emotion filled image.
Is God close or far away?
Is God singular or plural?
Is God an authority figure, or an accomplice?
For so many of us this picture of God, about which we seldom talk, is hidden inside the way we feel about our Self.
Also - inside the way we feel about others and our place in Life.
Do you fear God?
Is God reliable?
In re-Genesis we discover a picture of The Divine which is Spirit & Earth.
They fall in love.
And from their passionate Love, they can't help themselves, They desire to create.
They are in awe when They see you.
They gasp: wow! she is good. very good.
Nothing uncertain about that.
They adore each other.
They adore you.
For me, who've had some troublesome experiences with men, when I was little, it is quite a relief to see God as male and female. And to see Them as Spirit and Earth.
Every breath I take is Spirit.
Every morsel I eat is Earth.
They never distant.
They in me, nourishing me.
Holding me.
With this belief,
it is a little easier to look at myself a bit kinder.
To Love me.
To Love Life.
To "think" that there could be enough out there for me as well,
and that I'm not robbing anyone by having,
because there is enough for them as well.
This letter, my invitation to you, to discover your own enoughness,
as you draw a different picture,
for your Self.
